HEAT allows
citizens of Hillsborough County to locate critical facilities in relation
to their residence. These critical facilities include: Hospitals, fire
stations, evacuation shelters, and sandbag locations.

| (1) First you must locate
your address |
If you wish
to locate an address on the map, you must use the address matching
tool. This tool will allow you to locate address or intersections.
You
must first locate and click on this button to locate an address
It is located
on this portion of your screen in the Toolbar
You will see
a form on the bottom portion of your screen like the following.

| Address Matching |
First you must
select the layer. Select the parcel layer.
Enter your address
in the "Street" field. When locating address, leave the field
marked "Cross Street" blank. Then click on the Locate button.
You will then see a blue hyperlinked number representing your address.
If multiple addresses appear, click on the link which has the higher
score.

| (2) Select parcel. |
Zoom
in to the selected parcel then click this button in
the toolbar to select the parcel.
Click inside your parcel. You should see a yellow line highlighting
your parcel.

| (3) Select the buffer
tool. |
Then
use your button
to enter the emergency facility to include a buffer around the
parcel and a distance around the selected parcel to find the
facilities. The unit of measurement is miles. Then click on the create
buffer button. Click on the Display Attributes box to see the address
of the emergency facility.

| (4) Routing Information |
If you wish
to get routing information to any evacuation layer, go to find
directions or select the route button from the main page.

can use your navigation tools to move around
the map
